KHARTOUM — Sudan’s army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has rejected negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), saying the military will continue fighting until it retakes territory controlled by the paramilitary group.
Burhan said the military option would continue and vowed to reclaim territory held by the RSF.
The declaration comes as fighting continues across parts of Sudan.
At least 10 civilians were reportedly killed in an attack in West Kordofan, while the International Organization for Migration said more than 5,500 people were displaced from villages in Blue Nile State over three days.
The war, which began in April 2023, has caused a huge humanitarian crisis and displaced millions.
