The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced October 9, 2026, as the start date for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement followed an assessment visit by INEC officials to Kaduna State.
INEC said it is also working to close operational gaps and strengthen preparations for the elections.
The exercise is expected to be an important part of the commission’s preparations as Nigeria moves towards the 2027 polls.
