JOHANNESBURG — The death toll from a weekend shooting at a tavern in South Africa has risen to 18 after another victim died in hospital.
The shooting happened on Saturday night in Wedela, west of Johannesburg. Police said gunmen opened fire at people at the tavern.
Several other people were injured and taken to hospital.
Police are continuing their investigation and searching for those responsible. The motive has not been established.
A separate shooting near Cape Town during the same weekend also left several people dead.
