Nigeria’s Fuel Prices Remain Under Pressure

ABUJA — Nigerians continue to face high petrol and diesel prices as international oil prices put pressure on domestic fuel costs.

Recent checks reported petrol prices around ₦1,400 per litre in Lagos and Abuja, with some northern locations recording prices of about ₦1,500.

Diesel prices have also remained above ₦2,000 per litre in some locations.

Reuters reported that higher global crude prices have contributed to the latest pressure, despite the Dangote refinery operating at large scale.

Monafrika Economy:
Higher fuel prices can increase transportation, production and distribution costs, which can then affect the prices of goods and services.
