Plateau Attacks: Nine Killed as Fresh Violence Hits Communities

At least nine people have been killed in fresh attacks across parts of Plateau State, in another wave of violence that has left communities in mourning.

The attacks were reported in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas, with several incidents taking place between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Among those killed was a pastor who was reportedly travelling to church. Five other victims were reportedly travelling as labourers when they were attacked.

Residents and community leaders have called on security agencies to increase their presence in the affected areas and identify those responsible.

Security personnel have reportedly been deployed to some of the affected communities.

The latest violence has renewed concerns about the safety of residents in parts of Plateau State, where communities have experienced repeated attacks over the years.

The repeated loss of lives in Plateau is a painful reminder that security must remain a major priority. Communities need lasting protection, not only increased security presence after an attack.
