Nigeria’s electoral authorities are continuing preparations for upcoming elections, with technology and voter accreditation remaining key areas of focus.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has been testing electoral procedures ahead of major elections, including the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
Earlier mock accreditation exercises in Osun exposed technical difficulties with some BVAS devices, highlighting the importance of adequate testing before election day.
INEC’s official platform currently lists upcoming elections and provides services for voter registration, polling-unit identification and election information.
With Nigeria’s political environment already becoming increasingly active, the commission faces pressure to ensure that electoral technology, personnel and logistics are properly prepared.
The credibility of the process will depend not only on election-day voting but also on public confidence in the systems used before, during and after the polls.
