Tinubu: Northern Nigeria Biggest Beneficiary of My Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has defended his administration’s economic policies, saying Northern Nigeria has benefited more than any other part of the country from the reforms introduced since he took office.

The President particularly defended the removal of the petrol subsidy, arguing that the decision was necessary to prevent further pressure on government finances and redirect public resources towards development.

Tinubu made the remarks as his administration continues to face criticism over the cost of living, poverty and economic hardship.

The President’s position, however, has triggered different reactions in the North. While some northern groups have rejected his assessment, some Northern Christian leaders have argued that the region is benefiting from the government’s policies.

The debate comes as Nigerians continue to assess whether the government’s economic reforms are translating into better living conditions.
