President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally sworn in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Enitan succeeds Didi Walson-Jack, who retired after reaching the mandatory retirement age.
The new Head of Service is a career civil servant and previously served as a Permanent Secretary in several government institutions, including the Federal Ministry of Education.
His appointment took effect on August 27.
The new administration of the Federal Civil Service is expected to focus on improving efficiency, professionalism and service delivery across government ministries, departments and agencies.
The transition also marks the beginning of a new phase for Nigeria’s federal bureaucracy as government continues efforts to modernise public administration.
