Tinubu Orders Immediate Rescue Operation After Mass Kidnapping in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has ordered Nigeria’s security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue hundreds of people reportedly abducted in a mass kidnapping incident.

The directive followed growing concern over the scale of the abduction and renewed questions about Nigeria’s ability to prevent large-scale attacks by criminal groups.

Tinubu directed the military and other security agencies to make the safe recovery of the victims a priority while strengthening intelligence gathering and security operations around vulnerable communities.

The latest incident has again placed kidnapping at the centre of Nigeria’s security debate, coming only weeks after security forces announced the rescue of more than 300 people abducted in Niger and Kwara states.

The development is expected to increase pressure on the government to improve intelligence-led operations, protect rural communities and prevent mass abductions.
