Nigeria’s 2027 political season is entering a more active phase as politicians and political parties position themselves ahead of the presidential election.
President Bola Tinubu and several political figures recently signed a peace accord calling for peaceful campaigns and an election free from violence.
The agreement also comes as opposition politicians continue efforts to build a stronger platform ahead of the election.
INEC, meanwhile, is reviewing its regulations for political parties to bring them in line with the Electoral Act 2026.
With political campaigns now becoming more visible, issues such as the economy, security, fuel prices, unemployment and the cost of living are expected to dominate public debate.
