Tinubu, Shettima, Yari Lead APC Campaign Team as Party Begins Fresh Mobilisation

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has begun a major political mobilisation ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, putting its campaign machinery in place as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu seeks another term in office.

The party has appointed former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari as Director-General of the presidential campaign council, with other senior political figures taking up key responsibilities.

The development signals the beginning of a more organised phase of the APC’s campaign after months of political realignment across the country.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has also been given responsibility for fundraising for the campaign.

Yari has promised that the campaign organisation will work to communicate the administration’s achievements while assuring Nigerians that the party intends to deliver on its campaign commitments.

The APC’s strategy comes at a critical moment. The Tinubu administration is facing both political pressure and public concerns over the cost of living, insecurity and the impact of its economic reforms.

The opposition is also preparing for the election, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi continuing their political consultations.

With campaigns now underway, economic performance, security and the welfare of ordinary Nigerians are expected to dominate the political conversation leading to the election.
