Davido and Wande Coal Clash Over Unreleased Collaboration

Nigerian music stars Davido and Wande Coal are at the centre of a heated online exchange over an unreleased song titled “Come My Way.”

The disagreement began after Davido spoke about the song during a recent podcast interview. He explained that Wande Coal had approached him for a feature and that he recorded a verse for the track.

According to Davido, the problem came when plans for the song’s release changed. He said Wande Coal wanted to release the original version first and later put his contribution on a remix. Davido said that was not the arrangement he had agreed to.

Wande Coal was quick to challenge Davido’s version of events.

In a post on X, the singer said “Come My Way” already had a release plan and date before Davido’s involvement became an issue. He also rejected the idea that the song needed Davido’s contribution to succeed.

Wande Coal pointed out that the song performed well without Davido’s verse.

The exchange then moved beyond the original song disagreement, with both artistes responding to each other online.

The public disagreement has generated plenty of discussion among Afrobeats fans, many of whom had been aware of the unreleased collaboration for years.

The interest is understandable. Both Davido and Wande Coal are major names in Nigerian music, and fans have long wondered why their collaboration never officially arrived.

For now, there is no indication that “Come My Way” will be released with Davido’s verse.
